1992-95 • The Coming
The Coming was an ambitious street project that appeared in various forms throughout 1992-95. The original version brought together Paul Burwell, the Grand Theatre of Lemmings, Steve Edgar, Desperate Men and Avanti Display in Brighton, Greenwich Docklands and the Aurillac Festival (France). With further development it became UZ Events’ first production in Glasgow.
The addition of Mischief Las Bas and many Glasgow-based artists alongside real community involvement turned it into a signature project for UZ and it marked the beginning of what became many parade-based projects for the company and the start of a hugely successful creative partnership with the artist designer, Graeme Gilmour.
